Hi Heather
Thanks for the chat earlier today.
Here's me out on the Bike course of the London triathlon Aug 6th 2007.
The sun makes the photo come out well - see the sharp shadow! But it was hot
out there. On the run course the nice marshals turned themselves into human
fountains at the drinks stations and threw water over us. Also at the swim
end the marshals were really great, heaved us out of the water and held on
to me until I was upright - very thoughtful as I get a bit dizzy when I
leave the water.
It's a huge race now, and though it's really great to do it, it's also lots
of hassle - traffic jams, queues. The pre-race traffic jam was stressful,
and the London Tri is expensive! (£70 ish + car park £9 + expensive food + +
+ ). So I may not do it next year and I'm thinking of alternatives. Does
anyone have any recommendations? I was thinking of Bournemouth, Brighton ? I
also see there is one at Fritton in Norfolk - looks very pretty, and Belvoir
Castle.
Anyway - thanks for the encouragement and the website. Girls Do Run Too!
Regards
Jane Northcote

A couple of additions:
1) My results haven't turned up. Despite definitely completing the race -
photos prove it - and beeping on all the timing mats, my name is missing
from the results on the London Tri Website. Obviously I have emailed them
about this, but so far there's no response.

London Triathlon

The London Triathlon was amazing, the weather was hot!!!! Our shop looked fabulous – definitely our best to date and everybody was in fine spirits.
Here are just a few of the girls that bought items on Saturday, raced on Sunday and came back to let us know how they had got on.
Thank you!

All for one and one for all!

Tri Team
Apologies for the lack of posts leading up to the triathlon and the delay in getting around to posting news and gossip following the event, life got a bit crazy and the phrase “bit off more than we could chew” springs to mind.

Following a rather busy June and July, Team GRT were quite frankly “done in” mentally and physically exhausted, then came the news that Rosie are swimmer was unable to make the triathlon as she was also “done in”. Heather and I sat down to decide what to do, tears were spilt and we decided not to race this year. “All for one and one for all”. I would like to thank our local tri club and customers who offered to swim for us, you are all very kind, as you know the shop/stand was a lot bigger this year and to race as well was a step too far.

We will be back!
